An air of refinement surrounds her, a noble. Their attire, ill-suited and undecorated in contrast to the way she carries herself. A stance poised and proper accompanied by the infamous cold and unassuming Coerthean expression and mannerisms. Soft-spoken with a heavier Old Ishgardian accent, yet her words ring with crystal clarity. The icy gaze radiates a gentle ferocity, warm yet cruel. Straight as the edge that adorns her waistband; without deviation, she moves with haste in her business. Rarely distracted from her task at hand, would she spare another the time of day if they crossed paths?

Knighthood

Having worked under the Inquisition of the Holy See, she worked a Temple Knight. Bearing arms against dragons and heretics alike she would ruthlessly deal with her foes striking swift and true with the fury behind each blow. Famous or rather infamous for her prickly demeanor she garnered the nicknames Chevaleresse to those fond of her and Dog of the Archbishop to those that would disdain her. The former being more notorious.

House Fortemps

The Barony of the Lacroix house was famed for producing some of the more devout followers of the Holy See. Under the High House Fortempts they served loyally to the cause, despite the Baron Ateux’s notorious promiscuity. House Lacroix was renowned for establishing places of a handful of the churches littered throughout Coerthas with funds gained through their production of the finest Ishgardian steel and armor smiths.

Ciel, a noble knight driven by a deep sense of altruism, embodies the very essence of selflessness. Committed to upholding the ideals of chivalry and knighthood, she embraces her duty to serve and protect others with unwavering dedication. She recognizes that the role of a knight extends beyond martial prowess; it encompasses the responsibility to be a beacon of hope and aid in times of adversity.

Oath Seeker

A worthy cause or banner is enough to resonate in the hearts of many. To live and fall for the sake of another is a noble cause, one of which lies at the epitome of Knighthood. Bereft of a master to call her own she searches for someone to swear fealty, but will she be doomed to repeat the mistakes of old or forge a new path?

History

Lady Lacroix

Born into the Lacroix fiefdom she was a child of a Baron’s mistress along with a dozen other siblings from various mothers. In order to avoid the fight for the heir she joined the object of her admiration, The Temple Knights. There Ciel started as a squire ultimately rising to a Knight where she eventually joined the Inquisition, acting as the blade for inquisitors she felled many dragons and heretics without mercy or remorse. During her various deployments, she came toe to toe with the Lady of Frost and discovered her possession of the Echo.Moving and acting as a sword of the Archbishop and Heaven’s Ward she eventually swore fealty before Thordan VII. At the end of the Dragonsong War she was tried along with the entire Inquisition by the House of Lords and Commons, those who were aware of the past were imprisoned while the rest were pardoned for their actions. The loss of her master, the source of her oath, and the words against him spurred a desire for change in her values. Seeking to avoid repeating mistakes prior she now seeks a journey to expand her knowledge.
